Who’s suitable for exercise referral?
The following simple criteria can help you decide whether a patient with Parkinson’s is an eligible candidate for the Reach Your Peak programme:
- No recent falls: Patients should not have experienced any falls in the past 12 months.
- Fairly recent diagnosis: Patients should have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s within the last five years because early intervention has the greatest impact.
- Motivation and capability: Patients should be willing and capable of engaging in a structured exercise programme and have easy access to a tablet or smartphone.
